Pink zebra danio1/19/2024 ![]() I don't know, if I get some baby red fish out of this I might test the waters. Danio is a genus of small freshwater fish in the family Cyprinidae found in South and Southeast Asia, commonly kept in aquaria. as patents expire and if there is enough economic incentive someone will produce competition. ![]() The fish are popular amongst aquarists due to their social, peaceful nature, although they can be aggressive if housed in a crowded tank. Zebra danios have slim bodies with horizontal black and white zebra-like stripes. They have gorgeous floaty fins and tails. The zebra danio is a freshwater fish of the danio group, in the family Cyprinidae. This is just my opinion and I did not sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night but I think that within a few years you will see all sorts of copycat fish with names like BrightFish etc. The Zebra Danio is a highly active swimmer, especially when kept in small schools. The pink Zebra Danio has a similar pattern, except in a dusky, rosy pink color. Took me a while to find out but they are actually called Ghost Long-Fin Zebra Danio. And it would be on GloFish LLC to file against a person. ![]() The pH should be between 6.5 and 7. Any two-bit lawyer can crank one out for a few dollars. Zebra danios prefer water temperatures in the range of 64 to 74 degrees Fahrenheit (18 to 24 degrees C). Cease and desist letters don't mean much in the grand scheme of things though. Still though, you probably wouldn't want to draw any attention to yourself. These fish can form large shoals and come in a variety of color morphs. But putting an ad on Craigslist for "bright red small fish" probably wouldn't draw too much attention. The zebra danio (Danio rerio) is a hardy freshwater fish that is extremely popular in tropical aquariums. Of course a person couldn't sell them as GloFish, that's trademarked and selling them without being licensed would be infringement. Some of the patents, in fact probably the most important one - the one for creating transgenic fish - is going to expire soon. Glofish as a "thing" won't last forever and neither do patents.
